The 21-year-old said that he expected the good performance, which he attributed to putting in long study hours, working closely with teachers and his classmates, as well as the support he got from his parents and staff at the school.

"All the students, teachers and support staff at the school were my friends. They used to help me move from one point to another whenever necessary," he told Nation.Africa in an interview.

"I am planning to study aeronautical engineering at the Technical University of Kenya," he added.

His mother Jane Kyalo celebrated his good performance.

"We used to guide him properly to ensure that he completed his homework on time," she said.

The school attributed his performance to hard work and discipline.
