Police name most dangerous counties

  • On the other hand, Lamu County, the report says, had the highest number of crime cases reported to security officers, with an index of 532 per 100,000 people. Other counties in this category are Taita Taveta (327), Mombasa (318), Isiolo (276), Meru (267), Kirinyaga (259), Elgeyo Marakwet (248), Kiambu (244), Nairobi (243) and Nandi (242).
  • In some of these areas, police also faced the challenge of terrorist attacks, organised criminal gangs, clan conflicts, fatal road accidents, drug trafficking, cattle rustling and poaching among others.

Wajir, Mandera, Kitui and Migori are some of the counties with the lowest number of crime incidents reported to police, a new police report says.
