  • June 14, 2017: Mr Geoffrey Aroni, a boda boda rider in Kisii County, kills his cousin Christine Nyananga, then turns the knife on himself.
  • June 29, 2017: The body of Mt Kenya University student Maxwell Kariuki is found in Parklands, near Limuru Road.
  • December 3, 2017: A sex worker in Kisii County escapes on a motorbike after killing a man using a knife they used to peel oranges.

On February 5, ivory trade investigator Esmond Bradley Martin’s body was found in his Karen home with stab wounds.
