780 new cases of Covid-19 as 10 patients succumb

Kenya has recorded 780 new cases of Covid-19, raising the national tally of confirmed cases to 80,102, even as 10 more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

The latest cases are from 6,158 samples, with the national tally for tested samples now standing at 80,102, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.

The national death toll has meanwhile risen to 1,427 from the latest fatalities.

The Ministry of Health has also announced that 552 patients have tested negative for Covid-19 within the same period of time, raising recoveries tally in the country to 53,526.

From the new cases, 754 are Kenyans while 26 are foreigners, with 460 males and 320 females.

The youngest is a one year old child, while the oldest is 94.

Nairobi County had 273 new cases followed by Kiambu 93, Mombasa 86, Busia 85, Nakuru 40, Turkana 32 and Uasin Gishu 20.

Other cases were recorded in Kilifi 16, Meru 13, Kajiado 13, Kisumu 11, Nandi 10, Taita Taveta 9, Murang'a 8, Laikipia 8, Nyeri 8, Bomet 7, Trans Nzoia 7, Kwale 4, Makueni 4, Machakos 3, Embu 3, Homa Bay 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 2 and Tana River 2.

Samburu, Baringo, Garissa, Nyamira, Marsabit, Kitui, Isiolo and Siaya counties had one new case each.
