Nation Media Group (NMG) has partnered with East African Breweries Limited (EABL) and artistes Eric Wainaina and Atemi Oyungu to give Kenyans enchanting Christmas carols this festive season.

The Christmas experience christened ‘Tis The Season’ will air exclusively on NTV in the evening of December 20 from 10pm. But on the evening of December 18, the audience will be treated to an exclusively live concert from 4pm to 7pm at the Hub, Karen.

Tickets are available on Ticketsasa for Sh2,500.

This is the eighth edition of the event that has for the last seven years been run in Nairobi.

Speaking during the launch, Ms Monica Ndung’u, the Head of Broadcasting at NTV, said the partnership will give Kenyans a better way to unwind after a tough year occasioned by the pandemic.

“We are proud to be part of this partnership because of what it is,” she said. “There is nothing better than good music put together by some of Kenya’s best artists and also some of the best brands especially at a time when crowding is prohibited.”

For over 90 years, EABL, a proudly Kenyan brand, has been supporting citizens, said Jean Okech-Nyawara, the marketing manager Tusker, adding that “being the difficult year it has been, the firm wants to bring Christmas cheer to Kenyans by working together with artists.”

This year’s ‘Tis the Season’ crew will feature enchanting Christmas carols with an authentic Kenyan twist consisting of 11 track-album. Other Kenyan stars featured in the album are Bien-Aime Baraza of Sauti Sol, Wyre and Wambura Mitaru.

The live experience of a concert, Mr Wainaina said, has an aura of warmth that Kenyans need as they hold onto hopes of “things getting better.”

“What we’re trying to do, especially in this time of Covid-19, is to figure out how we can have live events in a way that is safe yet bring people as much joy as we can,” he said.
