Johnny Junior to perform at a grand rhumba party in Nebraska Lounge — Ugunja

Rhumba musician Johnny Junior backed by his group the BV Band will tonight be the highlight during a rhumba extravaganza to also double up as the grand launch Party of the recently opened Nebraska Lounge and Grill at Ugunja- Sira in Siaya County.

For rhumba lovers in the area, it will be more of a homecoming show for Johnny who also hails from the same county.

In the recent past he has been staging more shows in Western Kenya blending Luo ballads with the Congolese rhumba beats.

Last night he was due to perform at a Valentine’s Day Special show in Kisumu. In Nairobi, he regularly performs at the Benelix Lounge.

Some of his popular songs include  Nyaremo, Mashabiki, Awino, Amour Special and Chris Abudho.

Entry for tonight's show at Ugunja is Sh1,000.

Elsewhere the Wave XO (Next to MKU Town campus) in Nakuru tonight presents the Grand Launch Day 2 of the Take Over Saturday Party. The show to be hosted by Kamene Goro will feature disco music by DJs Kym Nickdee and Ruffest DJ Moh..

Tomorrow the same spot on Kipchoge Avenue in Nakuru hosts the Sunday RNB Brunch from 3pm until late.

At the Bustani Gardens Redhill on Limuru Road lined up today is the Carribbean Brunch- Hearts in Paradise show. Those to perform at the show include ZJ Heno, Shema, KK, Tadgue, TM and Venom. Entrance is Sh2.500 and Sh8.000 (Group of five). The show starts at 12pm.

Meanwhile at the Sarit Centre, Rooftop Garden, Westlands, Nairobi lined up this evening is the Love- Unplugged Atemi Oyungu Live.

Some of Atemi’s popular songs include: Someday,  Sokoni Mjini and  Ïmenibamba.

The dress code for the show is  Cherry Red with a touch of gold and black.. Entrance is Sh2,500 (advance single) and Sh5,000 (VIP advance). The show starts at 6pm.

For lovers of horse racing the Ngong Racecourse and Golf Park, Nairobi will tomorrow host the Kenya Fillies Guineas Ladies Day.

It will be a special Ladies' Day featuring food and drinks, a curated pop-up market, family- entertainment and a fashion show The show starts at 12pm to culminates with the after-party from 5pm.

Luhya’s valentine’s at Touchdown Lounge in Kitengela

The Touchdown 042 Lounge in Korompoi, at Kitengela tonight hosts legendary Luhya musician Vincent Ongidi of the  Mama Mulayi hit song fame.

Ongidi will be backed up by his band of six alongside resident DJ Trent Mashups and DJ SN. On offer will be traditional Western Kenya cuisine including Ingokho, Obambla, Ehejege and Oluyoko.

The Namanga Road-based Touchdown 042 Lounge hosts live bands every Saturday and plays Rhumba, Ohangla and Benga and a mix of all other genres throughout the week.

Meanwhile, Ricky Mulolo performs every Thursday at  Mtwapa’s  September VIP.
