Trans-Nzoia MCA arrested for assaulting father’s lover

A nominated Member of the Trans-Nzoia County Assembly and his sister have been arrested for attacking a 50-year-old woman over an alleged affair with their father who is a widower.

Accompanied by 10 other family members, the MCA - Joseph Trikoi Kapchanga - on Sunday evening stormed the home of the woman, a widow living in Chorlim, Endebess Sub-county. They attacked her and her 23-year-old son.

Endebess OCPD Salesioh Murithi told the Nation that the assailants accused the widow of having a relationship with their father Kapchanga Marangachi.

Drama ensued when the assailants arrived in two vehicles together with their father and carrying his clothes.

"They frog marched him to the complainant’s home and attempted to forcibly have him marry the widow but he refused and managed to escape," explained the OCPD.

The incident was reported to Endebess Police Station.

"The victims were treated and issued with P3 forms where an inquiry file number 03/2020 was opened and forwarded to the DPP who directed the arrest of the MCA and 10 others," said Mr Salesioh.

The MCA and his sister were traced and arrested while nine others are still at large.

Mr Salesioh said the two will be charged with assault, causing bodily harm and malicious damage to property.
