Hundreds attend Ivy Wangechi's funeral in Nyeri

The funeral of slain Moi University student Ivy Wangechi is currently underway in Othaya, Nyeri County.

Hundreds of mourners who include students and local leaders have gathered for her send off in Mahiga.

Mourners arrived dressed in black attire, with green scarfs around their shoulders.

Students of Moi University, where Ivy was a sixth year medical student, carried the casket bearing her remains from the hearse that ferried her body from Kenyatta University mortuary in Nairobi.

Leaders present include Othaya MP Gichuki Mugambi, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and and Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami.
