A family from Kakamega County is in agony after their Form Three son went missing from school under unclear circumstances more than a month ago.

Alvin Wekesa Sasaka, 16, who is a student at Maseno School was reported to have gone missing on November 9, 2021.

According to Maseno School Principal Andrew Buop, Sasaka left the institution November 9.

“The student left school when we were about to break for half term, and we thought he would come back after the break but he hasn't been seen," Mr Buop said.

"We reported the case to the police and efforts by the school's management with the help of his elder brother to trace him have borne no fruits,” he said.

Sasaka's elder brother is a Form Four student in the same school.

The missing student’s parents Jasper Sasaka and Margaret Wanjusi are worried about their son’s disappearance.

Speaking to Nation.Africa at their home in Matunda, Lukuyani Constituency, Ms Wanjusi said that they are worried about their son's safety.

"I love my son very much, I am asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station,” she said.

"We filed a missing person report at Maseno Police Station under OB number 32/09/11/2021 at 1717hrs,” Mr Masaka said.

He prays that his second-born son returns home safely.

“We have been left wondering where he is, we have looked for him in mortuaries, police cells and prisons in vain,” he said.

He asked for police to intensify the search for their missing son.

A police officer from Maseno Police Station said the police are still searching for the boy.
