Ford Kenya MCAs from Bungoma County now want Tongareni MP Eseli Simiyu and his Kanduyi counterpart Wafula Wamunyinyi to make peace with party leader Moses Wetang'ula and support him.

Led by the county assembly’s majority leader Joseph Nyongesa, the MCAs said the two MPs, who are out to wrestle party leadership from Mr Wetang'ula, are fighting a losing battle.

Mr Nyongesa said last Thursday’s court ruling where objections by the two MPs were thrown out was a clear indication that the coup plotters will not succeed in their mission.

"The ruling by the High Court where preliminary objections raised by both Eseli and Wamunyinyi were dismissed with costs was a sign that they were heading nowhere,” said Nyongesa.

The Tuuti Marakaru MCA asked the two MPs to swallow their bride and “surrender honourably” before they are embarrassed further.

County deputy Speaker Stephen Wamalwa wondered why the two went to court even after claiming that they had taken over the party.

Mr Wamwala told the two MPs to stop being misled as they had failed in their attempted coup.

"I don’t know who is advising our brothers. Once conservatory orders are dismissed you can't appeal,'' said the Mitua Soysambu MCA.
