Ololulunga Boys High School in Narok County has been closed following student protests against extending second term.

The decision came shortly after a meeting between the disgruntled students and the school administration, parents and education officials at the school.

Earlier, the boys had gone on the rampage from as early as 3am.

During the meeting, the students said they were being mocked as cowards because they had not protested the move to extend second term.

The students showed displeasure with some of the new rules issued by Education CS Fred Matiang'i.

Police officers secured the compound as some students started throwing stones and breaking window panes.
