Detectives on Monday failed to charge blogger and former TV journalist Yassin Juma, who was arrested over material he has been posting on social media about the terror attack on a KDF camp in El-Adde, Somalia, on January 15 that left an unknown number of soldiers dead.
Police had on Monday morning driven Mr Juma, who was arrested at his Donholm residence in Nairobi on Saturday night, to the Kiambu Law Courts, where he was expected to take a plea to the charges but was not produced in court.
A prosecution officer at the Kiambu Law Courts told journalists that police were not ready with the required documents.
Mr Juma was held in the court cells for close to an hour before he was taken back to the Muthaiga Police Station by two police officers and it remained unclear whether he would be charged.
Mr Juma, according to the police, was arrested following his regular updates on his Facebook and Twitter pages about the attack said to have been executed by Al-Shabaab militants.
