Stop IDs vetting for all border areas

Suspect move • President William Ruto’s outlawing of the vetting of northeastern national identity card applicants is a suspect reward for only one border area, says Jim Okwako. “The people of Busia and Bungoma counties, whose children were born in Nairobi, Mombasa and other towns, are always required to travel back to their rural homes for vetting. Why then not discontinue this for all the border areas?”
