Graft in Bench • Recent corruption allegations against judges confirm the need to urgently set up a tribunal to fight the vice in the Judiciary, says Tim Lyani. In 2016, he recalls, the Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board unsuccessfully made the recommendation. “It was rejected by the Judiciary but there have been serious corruption allegations against some judges.” His contact is [email protected].

Ghost parking fee • Dr Juzar Hooker received a message on his phone at 1.22pm on November 17 informing him that his car, KBV ***W, was parked at Westlands and demanding a Sh200 parking fee, to be remitted in 15 minutes. “At the time, the car was parked at home. By fire, by force • Mysterious fires have wreaked havoc in schools countrywide, causing huge losses, says Alex Kioko. But he takes issue with the computation of damages and rebuilding costs by the administrators, whom he accuses of overcharging parents. He claims the boards of management and administrators don’t run schools well. “Let them try to run schools better.” His contact is [email protected].

Bounty • Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i should honour the pledge to pay a Sh60 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of escaped terror convicts, says Kenneth Njeru. “The three terrorists were seized in their hideout Mwingi, Kitui County, thanks to the locals, who promptly alerted the police. They should now be rewarded.” His contact is [email protected].

Bribery • Justice Said Chitembwe, who defended himself “in the court of public opinion on TV, was out of order”, says Paul V. Otieno, of Oklahoma City, USA. “That he allowed a lengthy criminal enterprise conversation to take place in his presence, without reporting it to the police or his superiors, makes him unfit to serve as an officer of the law.” His contact is [email protected].
