Didmus Barasa to spend 10 days in police cell

A court in Bungoma has allowed police to hold Didmus Barasa for 10 days pending probe into the shooting death of a security aide. 

Magistrate Charles Mutai made the ruling on Tuesday during a virtual court session.

The Kimilili lawmaker is accused of shooting and killing the aide of his closest opponentl in Kimilili parliamentary seat race Mr Brian Khaemba. Mr Barasa has denied the allegations.

Mr Barasa of UDA won the MP race with 26,000 votes.
