On Behalf of the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, management, and staff, it is with great pleasure that we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Kentours Regulated Non-WDT Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Ltd.

The Society was registered in 1984 with pioneer members from Abercrombie & Kent Kenya Limited. Currently, it draws most of its members from the hospitality industry, comprising tour firms, airlines, lodges, hotels, and affiliated companies.

The Sacco was formed to provide members with the opportunity to save and access loans at favourable rates, so that they may develop economically and socially. It does this through innovative and integrated solutions.

The Sacco has grown through the years. Currently, we have more than 80 employer companies whose employees form part of the membership. Moreover, many individuals have joined as independent members.

The achievements the Sacco has gained over the years are a result of strong leadership and management teams.

With the recent licensing by the Sacco Society Regulatory Authority (SASRA), Kentours Sacco is cognizant of the fact that compliance with the regulations set out under the Sacco Societies Act is key to its sustainability in the long run. This will mean that as the Sacco plans for the future, an appreciation of what the regulations entail will be crucial, and this will guide how the Sacco runs its operations.

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary, some achievements are very important to mention.

Corporate Governance

Kentours Board of Directors is committed to ensuring that the Sacco’s corporate governance policies incorporate the corporate strategy, risk management, accountability, transparency, and ethical business practices.

Competent Human Resource

The Sacco boasts of a competent and committed human resource, meaning that they have the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviours that contribute to our overall performance.

Strategic Plan

The society has a five-year strategic plan – its road map. The plan contains five key pillars namely, Financial, Membership, Digital Transformation, Excellent Service Delivery, and People and Leadership.

Digital Transformation

The Board has put in place a robust and dynamic ICT infrastructure that enhances information and system security. We have deployed digital solutions to transform the Sacco, automate Sacco processes and also ensure that we keep pace with technology.

Common Bond Expansion

Kentours Sacco has since opened its doors to all Kenyans to join. We invite you to apply for membership, and you can do this online via www.kentours.co.ke.

Our Sacco’s motto is to Inspire. Equip. Empower. Therefore, we encourage members to continue patronising our products and services.

I wish to appreciate our pioneer members, Sacco members, Board and Supervisory members, staff and management who have been at the helm of this great Society at different times.

Special mention goes to the Government and the regulatory agencies for their continued support to the Society.

We also thank all our sponsors who have enabled the publication of this commemorative supplement. They are Kentours Housing Co-operative Society Ltd, Jogoo DT Sacco Society Ltd, Sanctuary Retreats, Co-operative Bank of Kenya Ltd, Minet Kenya Insurance Brokers Ltd, and Eagle Peak Spur.
